New Jersey car accident leaves 1 dead in a 5 car pileup

Road accidents happen almost every day in New Jersey, but they are never a matter to be taken lightly. A simple mistake on the part of one driver can have severe repercussions, and the busier the road, the higher the toll can be. Sometimes accidents are hard to avoid, if weather conditions are bad, the road is improperly maintained, or a distracted driver strays into your path. It is important to stay alert at all times when driving to have the best chance of staying safe and keeping others safe.

Recently, in Middlesex County, a 53-year-old man was killed in a multivehicle crash at Old Bridge. The driver had no passengers and was found to be dead at the scene, while one passenger from another vehicle was taken to a New Brunswick hospital. Old Bridge Traffic and Safety Unit are currently investigating the fatal accident.

Five vehicles were involved in the incident which closed north and southbound lanes, delaying traffic for around 20 minutes. In multivehicle accidents such as this, it can be difficult to determine a cause. However, although one person was killed, the overall damage could have been far greater.

When a loved one is lost in an incident like this, it is always a difficult time. A sudden bereavement also comes with unexpected and difficult to manage costs, made worse by the sudden loss of income. However, for many families, these matters seem trivial in comparison to the loss of their loved one.

This crash serves as an example to other drivers in New Jersey. If someone you love is hurt or killed in a car accident, or you are injured yourself, you may need help meeting the resulting costs. Whether you are seeking a fair payment from your insurance company, or compensation from a negligent driver, you do not need to do it alone. An attorney can advise you on the best course of action and help you pursue the support you need while you recover from your injury or loss.
