Activities that contribute to distracted driving

As some New Jersey drivers may know, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that 421,000 individuals were injured on U.S. roads in 2012 due to distracted driving. The use of cell phones for talking and texting are two of the most common forms of distracted driving. However, other activities also result in car accident injuries and deaths.

Accident at overpass injures 2

An accident in New Jersey on Feb. 11 resulted in injuries to two individuals and lane closures due to a damaged bridge overpass. The overpass was inspected by government engineers to see if it was safe to reopen the road. As of this reporting, there has been no word whether charges will be filed against the truck driver who reportedly caused the accident.

Shoulder injuries from New Jersey car accidents

There are a variety of shoulder injuries that could leave an individual with chronic pain and limited movement of that part of the body after being in an auto accident. A victim may suffer a broken clavicle or scapula or a dislocation of the shoulder joint. Soft tissue injuries such as rotator cuff tears are also commonly reported by patients who have been in a crash

Signs of animal aggression

Strict liability for dog bites goes in and out of favor. Some states have a history of enacting such laws, repealing them, and then enacting new ones. Currently, New Jersey has a dog bite law that spells out the liability of the owner in cases of dog bites.
