New Jersey woman killed in recent car accident at bus stop

Motor vehicle collisions can happen in an instant. Drivers who fail to pay attention to the road are much more likely to cause a car accident. Such accidents often lead to property damage and serious injuries. A New Jersey woman was recently killed in a collision that may have been caused by a negligent driver.

According to authorities, the driver of an SUV ran his vehicle off the road, jumping the nearby curb. The vehicle then crashed into a bus stop located near Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center, demolishing it in the process. The SUV also struck a pedestrian, who was a nursing assistant at the hospital.

Tragically, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown whether any charges will be made as police are still investigating the incident. Authorities are currently looking for the driver who reportedly fled the scene following the crash. They say the SUV he was driving was not his.

Whenever a victim is killed in a car accident, the surviving family may choose to file a wrongful death lawsuit in civil court against the party believed to be responsible. If the claim successfully proves negligence on behalf of the opposing party, the plaintiff could then receive monetary damages that can be used to help pay for medical bills, funeral costs and any other financial expenses related to the collision. Anyone interested in learning more about such claims could consult an experienced New Jersey personal injury attorney to obtain more information and assistance.
